| The
day before the competition, I explored vantage points for photography.
Immediately in front of my perch and outside of the frame of the picture
is the infamous obstacle 1. Course designer Phil Collard was concerned
about rollovers and breakage on this obstacle, so he scheduled it
last in the order. It proved to be as difficult as Phil anticipated,
but the fact that it was last in the order meant that it would be
shaded from direct sun light, and the photography would not be what
it could have been had it been scheduled earlier in the day when the
sun was overhead. All things considered, I don't think Phil made a
