San Lucas is located at the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula
where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. This is Divorce Beach,
on the Pacific side. I was told that the name comes from the strong
currents and undertow that make swimming here hazardous. Just to the
east of Divorce Beach and on the opposite side of the promontory is
Lover's beach, which is by contrast a popular and safe place to go
for a swim. |
